Bronte West isa vibrant lakeside community on the southwest end of Oakville bordering Burlington. Bronte is known for it's harbour and it's restaurants in and around the harbour. The existing detached homes are a mix of old and new. The older homes are mostly side splits, back splits, and bungalows on large lots such as 60 ft x 120 ft (in abundance) and 75ft x 150ft (much more rare). Many of the older homes have been updated and upgraded, some have been remodeled and rebuilt. Many of these older homes have been demolished over the last few years and new larger homes have been built in their place. Close to the lake there are quite a few townhomes and apartment buildings which have been traditionally occupied by retirees. There are also some newer and more modern townhomes and luxury apartment buildings that have been built which appeal to a younger crowd. Bronte west is filled with parks and trails such as Bronte Provincial Park and the Donavan Bailey Trail.
